Summary: A Long-term Substitute School Social Worker position is available at Chester Elementary School for the 2025-2026 school year. CT certification 071 is required. Provides daily support for students through casework, group work, and class meetings. Makes regular contact with parents or other appropriate family members to enhance communication and improve student performance. Develops a support program to improve family communications. Provides crisis intervention services to students. Facilitates referral to community based medical/psychiatric services for students in need of medical evaluation and hospital treatment. Assists classroom teacher with the development of behaviour intervention plans to address individual students’ needs. Conducts appropriate classroom based effective education programs. Meets daily with staff and assists staff with student management. Participates in Student Assistance Team and Planning and Placement Team meetings. Maintains appropriate student case records. Runs group counselling sessions within the therapeutic program.
