Job Description:

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

FTE/Schedule:  0.4 FTE, 2 days/week
Requirements:  Education, Licenses & Certifications in accordance with Connecticut State Department of Education
Reports to:   Director of Pupil Services and Building Administration
Experience:

  • Working with students identified with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
  • Working with students with behavioral challenges due to a variety of disabilities
  • Completion of FBAs and development & implementation of BIPs
  • Experience working in public schools preferred
  • Preferred knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Support district-wide special and general education staff with behavioral supports and services designed to assist students in the Least Restrictive Environment.
  • Completion of Functional Behavior Assessments 
  • Develop & implement behavior management protocols and Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Provide support and oversee management of Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Maintain appropriate records and data pertaining to behavior protocols and plans and prepare reports
  • Provide coaching and professional development to staff on behavior interventions and supports
  • Participate in Planning and Placement Team meetings
  • Consultation with general and special  education classroom teachers on students identified with behavioral challenges through the SST process 
  • Participate in the referral and/or re-evaluation process when a diagnosis of ASD is being considered for eligibility for school-based special education services.
  • Consultation with school based teams to assist with creating safety plans, and Tier III Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Assist with developing and providing staff training and preparation for working effectively with students with a diagnosis of Autism and ASD as well as those with other behavior disorders
