What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a certified High School Special Education Teacher who:

• Has experience working with students with diverse and complex needs
• Can effectively manage behavioral challenges and developmental delays
• Has experience supervising and mentoring paraprofessionals (preferred)
• Is a self-starter who can think outside the box to develop engaging, individualized instruction
• Is committed to fostering independence and pre-vocational skills in both classroom and community settings

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic, behavioral, and vocational instruction
• Develop and implement educational and behavioral programming
• Support students in classroom, community, and job site settings
• Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals and a teaching assistant
• Help students build real-world skills that promote independence and success

Requirements

• Connecticut K-12 Special Education Certification
• Experience working with students with behavioral challenges and developmental disabilities
• Experience supervising paraprofessionals (preferred)
