What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a certified High School Special Education Teacher who:
- Has experience working with students with diverse and complex needs
- Can effectively manage behavioral challenges and developmental delays
- Has experience supervising and mentoring paraprofessionals (preferred)
- Is a self-starter who can think outside the box to develop engaging, individualized instruction
- Is committed to fostering independence and pre-vocational skills in both classroom and community settings
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized academic, behavioral, and vocational instruction
- Develop and implement educational and behavioral programming
- Support students in classroom, community, and job site settings
- Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals and a teaching assistant
- Help students build real-world skills that promote independence and success
Requirements
- Connecticut K-12 Special Education Certification
- Experience working with students with behavioral challenges and developmental disabilities
- Experience supervising paraprofessionals (preferred)
