One of Milford's transition programs, PGTA, is looking for a paraprofessional to be a Job Coach for students with disabilities who have completed their high school programming. Under direction of the special education teacher the job coach will assist young adult students with disabilities in participating in vocational experiences and developing positive employment skills. The Job Coach independently supervises students in work sites and community experiences throughout the Milford area. The successful candidate will show a demonstrated ability to provide positive role modeling for workplace and community behaviors, provide reinforcement of learned work skills and social pragmatics, communicate with area employers, special education staff and administrators on student progress. The Job Coach utilizes positive behavioral management techniques as instructed by the district BCBA, special education teacher or other PPS staff. The position requires prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, sitting as well as lifting, bending and being able to move rapidly in community-based work settings.
Associate degree OR High School diploma and passing score on Parapro Assessment needed.
