Job Description:
30 HOUR / INTENSIVE EDUCATION
NORTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The Applied Behavior Analyst (ABA)/DTI Paraeducator works in a special education program with elementary-aged children with Autism and other Pervasive Developmental Disabilities under the direction of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and special education teachers.
The ABA/DTI Paraeducator will be able to:
Implement individual and small group instruction to students with specific behavior programs
Implement lesson plans developed by the special education teacher or BCBA to support student success in all school settings
Be responsible for managing and organizing lesson materials, preparations and other functions to support each student’s individualized education plan (IEP)
Be responsible for data collection and maintaining documentation for each student.
Be responsible for following behavior intervention plans under the supervision of the BCBA and special education teacher.
Participate in ongoing professional learning
Support students with personal hygiene and Incorporate safety measures for students
Supervised By:
Special Education Supervisor and/or School Principal
Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a high school diploma. Associate and/or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Special Education or related field preferred but not necessary. Experience working directly with children with autism and/or behavioral challenges within a behavioral program is preferred but not necessary. PMT or similar training is preferred.

Salary:
In accordance with the Agreement Between the Cheshire Board of Education and CSEA/SEIU Local 2001/760 on Behalf of the Cheshire Paraeducators and Lunchroom/Playground Aides. Starting Salary $25.18/hour Benefits Available.
