Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and/or Masters in the content area
Must possess or be eligible for one of the following CTSDE Certifications
(165/065) Comprehensive Special Education, K-12
Period of Employment: School year position
Reports to: Building Administrator/Director of Special Services
Position Expectations:
Provide specialized programming to students with Autism or other neurodivergent disorders.
Demonstrated ability to write accurate and thorough assessment reports, IEP, and progress reports.
Ability to positively engage teachers, students, and families in the learning process.
Ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve learning for all students.
Ability to use data to make instructional decisions.
Ability to build organizational capacity around best practices, literacy instruction,n and intervention based on our continuous improvement work.
Ability to administer, analyze, and interpret comprehensive academic and social-emotional evaluations
Demonstrates knowledge of special education regulations and guidelines
Demonstrated ability to assess student learning on a continual basis and identify areas of intervention if needed
Salary: Salary, work year, and working conditions will be in accordance with the current contract between the Board of Education and the Suffield Educators Association.
