West District Elementary School
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The school psychologist's responsibility is to help students derive the fullest possible education experience from school by diagnosing learning and behavioral problems, providing appropriate recommendations, and offering therapeutic interventions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate should hold a valid Connecticut certificate.
Consideration will be given to the following: references that indicate the candidate exhibits exceptional ability related to assessment, diagnosis, and knowledge of behaviors in school-aged children;
Ability to conduct individual and group counseling interventions using scientifically based interventions college and/or graduate school grades; and various life/work experiences that contribute to the candidate's overall sophistication
SCHEDULE: Half Time 2.5 Days per Week School Year
LOCATION: West District Elementary School
STARTING DATE: Immediately

Teacher salaries are set by contract, established through negotiations between the Board of Education and the Teachers Association
