Floater Paraeducator for Learning Centers and Special Education
Assists and participates in teaching, protecting and providing care for elementary school aged children; carries out lesson plans and other curriculum provided by the classroom Teacher; participates in planning lessons, staff meetings, professional development etc. T
Qualifications
ParaPro Certificate or Associate's Degree preferred.
Prompt, reliable, dependable candidate with good oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
Assist classroom teacher in implementation of age/developmentally appropriate lessons plans. Assist classroom teacher maintaining orderly, clean, welcoming classroom for children and parents.
Present any notes, communication, messages to the classroom teacher immediately upon receiving from the parent, or other adult.
Interact positively with children at all times. Maintain visual supervision of children at all times. Observe individual children daily, maintain up to date information in assigned portfolio input to classroom teacher for conferences.
Maintain appropriate documentation for each child, as directed by classroom teacher accident/incident report, sick report, daily notes, etc.
Assist in keeping community areas of building neat and clean; including playground areas, bathrooms, snack area, common area, refrigerator, supply cabinets, etc. Keep all educational materials appropriately cleaned and sanitized.
Participate in DCF Mandated Reporter, First Aid, and PMT training, if required.
Report any unsafe or uncomfortable working conditions to the Building Administrator immediately.
Working cooperatively with teacher and providing role model for children.
