Job Description:

Location: North Haven High School

Reports to: Building Principal and Director of Student Services
 
Supervises: N/A
 
Work Year: January - TBD
 
Long-term substitute position supporting the District’s Therapeutic Learning Services (TLS) program within North Haven Middle School and North Haven High School.
 
Education, Qualifications and Expectations
Degree in School Psychology (070) with current or pending certification through the Connecticut State Department of Education;
Experience in working with students with an emotional disability;
Experience in working with students individually or in small group settings to support social, emotional, and academic support;
Experience conducting Functional Behavioral Analysis and writing behavioral support plans, analyzing behavioral data;
Ability to initiate productive communication to address student concerns with administration, team members, and parents;
Comprehensive knowledge of the Planning and Placement Team process and legal and related compliance;
Become Handle with Care Trained (District to provide);
Conduct appropriate evaluations and assist other teams in understanding the special education eligibility process for students with or suspected of having a disability, including the use of state guidelines;
Demonstrate leadership qualities to bring initiative and innovation to general education classrooms.
