Job Description:
Portland Public Schools is seeking a full-time, school-based Occupational Therapist to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. This position serves students from preschool through age 22 who exhibit a range of cognitive, physical, behavioral, language, and/or medical challenges in public schools. Experience with children in a school setting is desired.
Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, providing therapy sessions, and collaborating with teachers and families, presenting at PPT meetings.
CT Occupational Therapy license required.
Qualifications:
State licensure or the ability to be licensed in CT
Minimum 1+ years of occupational therapy experience
Knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy principles and practices
Experience and knowledge of a wide range of fine motor and sensory assessments is preferred
Experience in a school setting is preferred
Ability to lift, physically assist, and position children
Flexibility and a high level of organizational skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to adapt therapy interventions to meet the diverse needs of students
Excellent collaboration and consultation skills
