Job Description:
Greenwich Public Schools is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Program Associate for PreK-12 Speech & Language from November 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
This position is available only to current GPS teachers contracted as speech & language pathologists for 2024-25.
The Program Associate will provide support to GPS PreK-12 speech & language pathologists in implementing a strong program.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as a program leader and a liaison between the district and the program's teachers
Assists SESS administrators with designing, evaluating, and revising curricula and ensuring alignment with State standards
Ensures that the program's teachers are informed about relevant curricular standards
Assists SESS administrators with ensuring that program curricula are implemented
Assists SESS administrators with implementing program budgets
Researches best practices of teaching and professional learning opportunities to provide the program's teachers
Plans and conducts professional learning and development for the program's teachers
Plans and conducts program meetings in the absence of SESS administrators
Collaborates and communicates with SESS administrators, the program's teachers, and other staff as needed
Ensures vertical and horizontal articulation within the program
Creates and distributes clear learning progressions for the program's teachers
Performs routine maintenance on relevant program learning management systems
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
CT State certification in speech & language pathology required
CT Department of Public Health licensure in speech & language pathology required
Certified staff member of Greenwich Public Schools required
Familiarity with relevant national, state, and local curriculum standards
Knowledge and experience, in any educational setting, of effective instructional and assessment practices, including data collection and analysis
Familiarity with standards-based curriculum design
Commitment to the success of all students
Proficiency with computers and various classroom technologies, such as interactive whiteboards, tablets, or laptops
Digital proficiency in technology integration and the effective use of technology in classrooms
Strong written, oral, and presentational communication skills
Strong collaborative work skills
Strong work ethic
Strong leadership experience
Excellent research, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills
Duration
This long-term substitute position is for November 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
Work Year and Compensation
Teacher-based employment plus 7 days. Salary is based on the collective bargaining agreement between the Greenwich Board of Education and the Greenwich Education Association.
