JOB DESCRIPTION: OUT OF DISTRICT STUDENT LIAISON
Qualifications: Masters Degree in Special Education or a related service provider (school psychologist, social worker, SLP, etc) State of Connecticut Certification in Special Education or related services.
Reports To: Director of Student Services and Special Education.
General Description: Program monitoring for all students with out of district placements.
Qualifications: Appropriate certification and excellent communication skills (written and
verbal), organizational skill, and case management experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations governing special education.
Liaison to insure proper implementation of the individualized educational plans (IEP) for students placed outside the district.
Submits necessary reports and performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services and Special Education.
Engages in both short and long-term planning and establishes priorities.
Promotes positive relationships between placement locations and our district.
Attends statewide, regional, and national meetings to keep abreast of new developments, regulations, and mandates pertinent to special education students.
Serves on district-wide committees as necessary.
Maintains a central registry for all out of district student placements and assists with the completion of all State and Federal reports.
Assists in the development of procedures to implement policies relating to Special Education.
Assists in the writing of federal, state and local grant proposals as necessary.
Knowledge of state requirements and special education procedures.
Coordinate and facilitate PPT’s and program monitoring for all out of district placed students.
