Job Description:
POSITION: Paraeducator, Speech and Language Assistant Full-time (32.50 hours per week)
LOCATION: Stafford Elementary School
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate Degree or equivalent, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment (This requirement must be met before the end of the probationary period.)
Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred
· Provide interventions as designed by the Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)
· Assist the SLP with data collection
· Follow a daily schedule consistently and accurately
· Follow behavior intervention plans after appropriate training on such
· Bill for Medicaid reimbursement on a daily to weekly basis
· Gather all necessary materials for interventions to implement sessions
· File Individualized Education Programs, as requested by SLP
· Assist in the preparation and organization of program manuals and materials, as requested by the SLP
· Assist with behavior management of students receiving intervention or testing
· Use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT) devices, as well as basic software such as Board Maker, under the direct supervision of the SLP
· Review speech programs for accurate and consistent collection of data
· Create visuals, as necessary
· Basic word processing knowledge and skills
· Assist with faxing and copying
· Multi-task regularly
· Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services, Supervisor of Pupil Services, Building Administrator, and/or the Superintendent of Schools.
AVAILABILITY: ASAP
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $17.42 - $20.41, commensurate with experience
