Job Description:

Position: Long-Term Sub Special Education Teacher 
                                               
Location: Woodside Intermediate School
 
Requirements: Current CT certification (065) Comprehensive Special Education or (165) Comprehensive Special Education, or the ability to get DSAP or special permit. Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of special education.

Under the general supervision of the Building Administrators and/or Director of Student Services, the Special Education Teacher develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. Evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objectives, follows state-mandated due process procedures and functions as the IEP Case Manager to assigned student.  Implements districts approved curriculum and documents teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes.  Employs various teaching strategies, methods and principles of learning to assist students in achieving their IEP goals.  Effectively manages the classroom/student behavior and collaborate and consult with education professionals and community service providers.  Experience working with students with Autism and behaviors,  and DTI instruction as well as students with BIPs. Ability to work collaboratively with BCBA.
 

Start Date: late October/early November 2024 until approximately April 21, 2025.  

Compensation: $135 per day for the first 15 days, then day 16 $270.67 per day.  Sick and personal time, and health benefits.
