Job Description:

From July 1 - July 25, 2024, the Woodbridge School District will be conducting Extended School-Year (ESY) Program for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) indicating summer instruction at the Amity Middle School Bethany Campus.

• The ESY Program will hold classes daily, Monday-Thursday (plus Friday, July 5) from July 1-25, 2024 depending on student needs, 8 AM and 10 AM, or 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
• The week of July 1, classes will be July 1, 2, 3, 5 as there are no classes on July 4.
• Teachers' Assistants will be compensated at a $20/hr. hourly rate.     

Requirements: 

1. Implement Student Behavior Intervention Plans and/or Individualized Health Plan as needed
2. Knowledge of child development and ability to supervise children effectively, preferred.
3. Previous experience with diverse populations of children, preferably at the elementary level.        
4. Previous experience with children with special needs preferred.
5. Ability to interact with children under the direction of the classroom teacher.
6. Previous experience with children or adults with physical challenges and specialized equipment (wheelchair, stander, etc.) preferred.
7. Implement all aspects of the IEP under the supervision of the Special Education teacher and other related service personnel.
8. Should demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, clerical ability and technology skills.
9. Experience with data collection, preferred.
10. Carry out all appropriate and related services and perform other duties as assigned.
11. Minimum of a two-year advanced degree and/or passing ParaPro Assessment.
