POSITION:                                     Special Education Teacher        

SCHOOL:                                       

Grades K-5

GENERAL DUTIES:                      

Seeking a dynamic candidate with a solid understanding of disabilities including Learning Disabilities, Autism and Intellectual Disability, as well as experience using a trauma-informed approach and a positive behavior motivation system.  The Special Education Teacher is responsible for lesson planning and delivery as well as assessing students and writing high quality IEPs. Participation in interdisciplinary team meetings, PPT Meetings, and parent communication is an essential component of this position. The Special Education Teacher must collaborate regularly with related service providers and general education teachers, and be skilled in providing on-going training and supervision to paraprofessionals.

QUALIFICATIONS:                        

CT Certification in Special Education (165, 265, or 065)

Excellent teaming, collaboration and communication skills.

Ability to differentiate instruction and provide inclusive education highly desirable.

Prefer experience teaching mathematics.

SALARY:                                      

As per NFEA contract
