Job Description:

Date Available:  Permanent position effective with the 2024-2025 school year.  Official start date will be August 26. 2024.

Qualifications:  

CT teaching certification in Special Education K-12

Prior experience working with children with special needs at the elementary school level

Experience with students with behavioral needs a plus

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must be flexible, creative, and demonstrate strong organization skills

Must be highly motivated and self-directed 

Responsibilities:

Provide Case Manager services, including development, implementation, and monitoring of IEP goals and objectives; liaison with general education teachers; communication with home; running Team meetings.

Attend PPT’s and other meetings for assigned students and present up to date information on progress toward goals and objectives.

Conduct and present educational testing results, using this information to review and revise current IEP goals and objectives

Collect and manage data pertaining to various student goals and objectives

Ensure that all related services and class accommodations are being implemented in the appropriate settings.

Work collaboratively with individual student teams

Participate in professional development and other meetings with the special education department and school-wide faculty

Provide co-teaching partnerships in general education classes; adapt and modify curriculum materials and instructional approaches; serve as a resource to the general education staff in regards to working with a diverse learner population

Implement and monitor behavior support and incentive plans for assigned students
