Extended School Year Special Education Teachers

Program Time Frame:  Individuals applying for this position are required to work each of the weeks the assignment is in session unless the student should withdraw from the program.   

Work Schedule:  July 1, 2024 through July 25, 2024, Monday through Thursday Academic Instruction – 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Preparation time 7:30 a.m.–8:00 a.m.  (No session will occur on the July 4th holiday.)

Ideal Candidates Will Possess:

CT teaching certificatoin in Comprehensive Special Education.

Previous work experience with students with special needs, preferably at the secondary level.

Structured literacy certification or experience.

Experience teaching functional academics and/or life skills.

Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of a learner in a small group context.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

Fingerprinting/background and reference checks will be required.

Salary:  In accordance with the Region 9 collective bargaining unit agreement ($77.00/hour).
