Job Description:
POSITION: Behavioral Therapist Positions – 32.5 hours/week
LOCATION: District
START DATE: Immediately
Responsibilities:
The ABA Therapist will report to a designated special education teacher and will:
implement IEP goals as directed by the Special Education Teacher
work with other specialists and parents to implement additional specified goals and objectives
implement programs developed by teacher and consultant
teach daily living, social skills, receptive and expressive language skills
maintain accurate data and graphing on all designated programs
plan and implement all aspects of systematic instructional sequences within self-contained
classroom, inclusion environments, and reverse mainstream environments
meet regularly with ABA consultant, special education teacher, support team
attend staff meetings
video tape work sessions as appropriate
provide reports of student progress when deemed necessary by teacher and/or team
maintain student safety including the application of crisis prevention interventions and physical
management techniques, including protective holds, when necessary and appropriate
implement behavior intervention plans designed to reinforce appropriate behaviors and eliminate
inappropriate behaviors including disruptive behaviors such as aggression or bolting
Qualifications:
Two to three years’ experience providing ABA instruction
demonstrate knowledge of special education practices (autism)
possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
must be flexible, creative, and demonstrate strong organizational skills
must be highly motivated and self-directed
