SUMMARY: Assist in small groups and individual pupil instruction
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned
- Assist students with instruction under the direction of the special education teacher.
- Assist teacher in maintaining discipline and other (non) instructional units.
- Position requires lifting, positioning, and toileting student (may be required on occasion)
- Regular attendance is required for this position.
- Will involve work with special education students under the direction of teachers.
- Assist teacher in maintaining discipline.
- Assist teacher with instructional activities.
- Escort students from room to room.
- Involves work with both special education and regular students.
- Assist teaching staff in the implementation of IEP.
- Supervise students while they are at recess and lunch.
- Assist students with classroom assignments.
- Copy materials for instructional purposes.
- Assist teacher in filing material and preparing all necessary paperwork.
- Alert teachers to problems that may be observed.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree. Two years of college credit OR hold an associate’s (or higher) degree; OR successful completion of a paraprofessional assessment which assesses content knowledge in mathematics, reading and writing and an understanding of how to assist in the instruction of these topics (Parapro Assessment).
Salary: Per contractual agreement Work Hours: 6 hours per day; 8:45 AM to 3:45 PM
Date of Service: ASAP for 2023-24 School Year
