Job Description:

POSITION: Special Education Fulltime Paraeducator – 10-month Position

LOCATION OF ASSIGNMENT: Center School

ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: 03/25/2024

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of materials

or skills initially introduced and outlined by certified staff. Paraeducator staff will work in conjunction with the special

education teacher to support students with academics or who may exhibit challenging behaviors due to lacking the

skills of flexibility, adaptability, frustration tolerance, and problem solving.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Capable of upholding ethical and professional standards

• Knowledge of math, reading and writing instruction.

• Ability to document student’s progress, collect and maintain student data.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to be a team player.

• Two-year associate degree or equivalent

• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable and appropriate.

• Ability to lift, escort, and administer physical restraints.

PAYRANGE: $18.20-$25.11
