POSITION: School Social Worker

LOCATION OF ASSIGNMENT: The Learning Center (TLC) of East Hampton Public Schools

ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: August 16, 2024

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The Learning Center (TLC) is an alternative high school with a maximum capacity of 12 students, serving the communities of East

Hampton and East Haddam. The program provides services to address each student’s unique learning style with the goal of reentering them into their district high school.

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated individual to fill the role of School Social Worker. The successful candidate will be

responsible for providing comprehensive social and emotional support to students, collaborating with teachers and parents, and

implementing effective intervention strategies.

Responsibilities include:

● Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' social and emotional needs.

● Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop and implement intervention plans.

● Assess and evaluate students for behavioral, emotional, and social challenges.

● Provide crisis intervention and support when necessary.

● Maintain accurate and confidential student records.

QUALIFICATIONS:

● CT Certification School Social Worker (071)

● Strong knowledge of social and emotional development in children and adolescents.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

● Experience with community outreach and parent support.
