Job Description:

POSITION: Speech and Language Pathologist

PROGRAM: Special Education Summer School - ESY

SCHOOLS: Sandy Hook School (8:30am – 12:30pm) or

Newtown High School (8:15am – 12:15pm)

DATES: 6/24/24 – 7/25/24 Monday - Thursday

REQUIREMENTS: Connecticut Certification as a Special Education Teacher 065, 165, 265

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Participates in the development and implementation of a relevant educational prescription (IEP) for each

individual student for whom speech and/or language disorders may contribute significantly to his/her

educational needs.

 Complies with all professional, local, state and federal regulations as well as Board policies, procedures,

protocols and regulations.

 Utilizes a variety of service delivery models which may include, but are not limited to,

reassessment/tracking and consultation or direct services involving both pull-out and classroom

intervention.

 Consults regularly with parents regarding student progress and program(s).
