Job Summary:

Social Worker for Grades: K-2 

FTE: 1.0

Start Date: 8/20/2024

Main Responsibilities Include:

Consultation for School:

Consult with teachers/program managers regarding academic difficulties in the classroom

Conduct systematized direct observation of students

Act as 504 case manager

Create and monitor data collection systems regarding behavior that is responsive to student need

Counseling:

Provide 1:1 counseling for students and clients with social and emotional difficulty

Conduct social skills groups

Make DCF referrals when appropriate

Lead crisis interventions and crisis response teams

Work with families as a counselor or mediator as needed

Connect with community resources and assist families in utilizing resources

Qualifications: 

Valid CT School Social Worker or Counselor Licensure

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
