Job Description:

West Woods Upper Elementary School (Grs 5-6) is seeking a 1.0 FTE Long Term Sub School Counselor beginning in March.

Position is anticipated for 4-6 weeks.

Requirements for the successful candidate:

-certified as a CT School Counselor (068) or eligible for certification

-demonstrated flexibility, organization, leadership and communication skills

-team-oriented; willing to work closely with the School Counseling Department

-collaborative in working with various stakeholder groups

-able to build positive relationships with students, parents and school community

-willing to meet annually with each student/parent on caseload for an individual planning meeting

-willing to work with and plan for struggling students to meet with academic success

-skilled in providing individual and group counseling, including crisis intervention, to remove barriers to academic success

-responsibilities/skills as determined by superintendent or designee

Salary:  $52,618-$61,045 paid per diem, depending upon education and experience
