Job Description:

PARAPROFESSIONAL: Scotland Elementary School is seeking highly qualified individuals to work with students with disabilities. We now have new opportunities for you to join our team of educators. We are looking for an individual who loves to work with children prekindergarten through 6th grade. 

Qualifications:  The preferred ideal candidate for Scotland Elementary School would have at least an Associate’s Degree or some college background in early childhood or special education. It may be possible to have passed ParaPro in lieu of a degree or other college credits with the right experience. Other experience as an educational support aid or paraprofessional or positions with oversight of children (especially those requiring additional adult supervision) is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to work in multiple educational settings, be flexible, maintain confidentiality, and show passion and enthusiasm for their assignment. Lots of energy is a must and a love for children!!

Responsibilities: Provide instructional and behavioral support in classroom setting under the direct supervision of a certified special education case manager, but may also include 1:1 or 2:1 support for a student regularly. We do not have “room paras” because our classes are very small.

Salary: this 10 month position aligns with the current non-certified para contract. 

This job follows our school calendar and school day hours 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM
