Job Description:

Position Title:            School Psychologist or Social Worker - Extended School Year

Qualifications:           Meets criteria for employment within a CT public school as a School Psychologist                

Job Responsibilities:

Provides social skills instruction and reinforcement within both formal (i.e. small-group) and informal (i.e. activity-based) structures

Observes, collects data, and evaluates (as appropriate) students’ progress toward achieving IEP goals and objectives

Implements effective behavioral strategies and techniques for the purpose of facilitating appropriate social interactions between identified students and their typical peers

Works with staff to modify and accommodate students with special needs to facilitate their access to activities, field trips, recreational opportunities, etc.

Supervises paraprofessional staff to support student participation (as necessary)

Performs other duties as appropriate and assigned by the Director of Pupil Services or his/her Designee

Work Year:                 Extended School Year: 7/1-7/25/2024  Monday-Thursday 8:45 am to 3:15 pm 

Compensation:          $48.16  per hour in accordance with the Agreement between Avon BOE and AEA.
