Job Description:

West Hartford Public Schools is seeking to fill a position for a full-time registered behavior technician at Conard High School. Previous work with special education students is preferred. Previous experience with students with social-emotional-behavioral needs is preferred. Responsibilities include working with other pupil services staff to implement IEP goals and objectives, collect data, and support students' behavioral and academic needs. 


Requirements:

  • Completion of required training including 40-hour online course, required supervision hours by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
  • Must have passing score on the RBT Competency Assessment.
  • Must pass the initial RBT examination and annual recertification process.
  • Must have current certification or be able to obtain certification in Physical Management Training.
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age, have demonstrated completion of high school or equivalent/higher, and pass all necessary background checks.


Job Description:

  • Implement student Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Maintain and report student records.
  • Communicate with classroom teachers regarding student progress.
  • Perform Physical Management in the event of an emergency.
  • Discharges duties in accordance with RBT Ethics Code.
  • Other duties as assigned by a supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Pupil Services Department Supervisor.
